Approve or reject a workflow step
When a workflow reaches a step assigned to you, the platform tells you in three places: a notification, an item in My Tasks, and (for managers and admins) a row in the active workflows list.
Approve from the notification
- Bell icon in the top right, or open the notifications page.
- Click the workflow step notification.
- The approval page opens with the request, the requester, and any supporting context.
- Approve or Reject. Add a comment if you want to.
Approve from My Tasks
- Sidebar then My Tasks.
- Click the workflow approval task.
- Same approve or reject screen.
What happens after you action it
- Approve. The workflow moves to the next step automatically. The next assignee gets notified.
- Reject. The workflow stops. The original triggerer is notified with your comment, and they decide whether to start a new request.
If you are not the right approver
Some workflows have a fallback. Click Reassign on the approval page to forward it to someone else without rejecting. The workflow stays where it is and the new assignee gets the notification.
