Run the onboarding report

The onboarding report tracks how new starters are progressing through their onboarding workflows. It complements the Onboarding view in HR Hub, which is a more operational tracking tool. The report is designed for periodic reviews and exports.

Open the report

  1. On the left hand sidebar, under Tools, click Reports.
  2. Click Onboarding.

What the report shows

Summary cards:

  • Total in onboarding (or recently completed).
  • Completed. Finished their onboarding.
  • In progress. Currently working through tasks.
  • Pending. Haven’t started yet.

Charts:

  • Completion rate as a circular progress chart. Useful at a glance to see “are we onboarding people quickly enough?”

Overdue table:

  • Lists employees whose onboarding is overdue (their start date was more than a few days ago and they still have tasks remaining).
  • Columns: name, start date, status, tasks remaining.

Filters

  • Date range. Frame the report to a specific cohort (e.g. all starters in Q3).

Export to CSV

CSV columns: employee name, start date, status, onboarding started, completed at.

Reading the report

A few things to look for:

  • Completion rate trending down. Either you’re hiring faster than people are completing onboarding, or there’s friction in the current workflow that’s slowing people down.
  • Same blockers across multiple new starters. If several onboardings are stuck on the same task, the task itself is the problem (unclear instructions, missing dependency, IT bottleneck).
  • Overdue cases. Worth a personal follow up.

Linked actions

If the report shows people overdue, the operational view is at HR Hub → Onboarding, where you can drill into individual employees, see their stuck task, and take action.
