Send shoutouts and configure the daily digest

The comms feed has two recurring components: shoutouts (peer recognition) and the daily digest (a personalised “good morning” summary).

Post a shoutout

Anyone in your org can recognise a teammate.

  1. Sidebar then Comms feed.
  2. Post a shoutout at the top.
  3. Tag the person.
  4. Pick a cultural value if your org has them configured. The shoutout then counts toward the team’s value tracking.
  5. Add a short message.
  6. Post.

The recipient gets a notification, the shoutout shows in the feed for their team or the whole org (based on your org privacy setting), and the value contribution shows in the cultural values report.

Why shoutouts matter

  • They are the lightweight version of recognition that doesn’t need HR involvement.
  • They feed into performance reviews automatically (the review form prepopulates “shoutouts received” and “shoutouts given” for the cycle).
  • They surface examples of cultural values in action, which makes the values feel real instead of abstract.

The daily digest

Every employee sees a personalised digest at the top of their feed each morning. The platform builds it from:

  • Tasks waiting on them in My Tasks
  • Leave requests they need to approve
  • Documents to sign or acknowledge
  • Surveys due
  • Birthdays and work anniversaries in their team
  • Today’s people on leave (so they know who’s out)

Configure the digest (admin only)

  1. Sidebar then Settings.
  2. Notifications section.
  3. Digest tab.

You can:

  • Toggle whether the digest is enabled for your org
  • Choose which sections appear (e.g. turn off birthdays if it doesn’t fit your culture)
  • Set the time it generates (default 7am local time)

Individual employees can also turn off the digest in their own Notification Preferences if they prefer not to see it.
