Start an offboarding

When an employee is leaving, you start an exit from the Exits area. This creates an offboarding record, fires the offboarding workflow, and generates the checklist of things that need to happen before their last day.

Start an exit

  1. Sidebar then Exits and offboarding.
  2. Start an exit.
  3. Pick the employee.
  4. Fill in:
    • Reason (resignation, termination, redundancy, end of contract, retirement, mutual agreement)
    • Last day
    • Manager handover notes (optional)
  5. Create.

The platform changes the employee’s status to Offboarding and opens the offboarding checklist.

What happens automatically

  • Their access stops at end of business on their last day.
  • Their direct reports’ “Reports to” is flagged for reassignment.
  • An exit interview is scheduled (a form goes out a few days before their last day).
  • Final pay calculations run when payroll picks up the change.
  • Manager and HR get a checklist of tasks (return equipment, update org chart, transfer files).

Cancel an exit

If someone resigns and then withdraws, open the exit record and click Cancel exit. Their status flips back to Active and the offboarding workflow stops.

Who can do this

Admins only. Managers can flag a resignation but can’t initiate the offboarding workflow themselves.
