Configure your notification preferences

Your notification preferences let you control which platform events generate a notification for you and how each one is delivered.

Open notification preferences

  1. Sidebar then Settings.
  2. My account section.
  3. Notification preferences.

What you can configure

You see a table with rows for each type of event and columns for the delivery channel.

Event types

  • Leave. Requests submitted (admins), approvals needed (managers), request approved or rejected (employees), team member on leave today.
  • Documents. New document to sign or acknowledge, signature received (admins), reminder for outstanding signatures.
  • Performance. 1:1 scheduled, review due, goal updated, formal document received.
  • Onboarding. New starter assigned to you, task due, employee completed onboarding.
  • Comms. New shoutout received, mentioned in feed, new announcement, daily digest.
  • Workflows. Step assigned to you, step approved or rejected, workflow complete.
  • System. Account changes, password change, login from new device.

Channels

  • In app. Bell icon and notifications page.
  • Email. Sent to your work email.
  • Push. Mobile and desktop push (only if you’ve installed the PWA, see Install Your HR Toolkit).

For each row, tick which channels you want.

Quiet hours

Set hours when push and email notifications are paused. They still queue up in the in app inbox, but the platform doesn’t push them out until your quiet hours end.

Daily digest

Tick whether you want the daily digest in your feed and at what time it generates.

Email frequency

For each email row, you can pick:

  • Immediate. Sent as soon as the event happens.
  • Hourly digest. Bundled and sent on the hour.
  • Daily digest. Bundled and sent in the morning digest.
  • Off. No email.

The hourly and daily options are useful for high volume notifications like shoutouts or comms feed activity.

Save

Changes save automatically. They take effect immediately.

Best practice

For most people:

  • Immediate. Leave approvals, document signatures, workflow steps waiting on you, formal performance documents.
  • Daily digest. Shoutouts, comms feed, low priority reminders.
  • In app only. System messages.
