A tour of your dashboard

Your dashboard is your homepage on Your HR Toolkit. Click Dashboard in the sidebar from anywhere and you land back on it. What you see depends on your role: employee, manager, or admin.

Universal elements (everyone sees these)

These show on every dashboard regardless of role:

  • Greeting. A time-based hello (Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening, [your first name]).
  • Cultural values. Your organisation’s values, set up by your admin in the Cultural Values area. Each value shows with an icon, label, and tagline.
  • Announcements. The latest 3 announcements posted by your HR admin.
  • Shout-outs. The latest 3 employee-to-employee shout-outs (“Sarah → Tom: thanks for covering the late shift on Tuesday”).

Employee dashboard

If you’re a regular employee, you’ll also see:

  • Quick actions. Buttons for Request leave, View my documents, Complete surveys, View policies.
  • Self-assessment due. If a performance review cycle is open and your self-assessment is pending, you’ll see it here.
  • My onboarding. Visible only while you’re still mid-onboarding. Shows a progress bar and tasks remaining.
  • Pending surveys. A count of surveys you haven’t responded to yet.
  • Upcoming leave. Your next approved leave dates.
  • Docs to sign. Any documents waiting on your e-signature.

Manager dashboard

Managers see all of the above PLUS team-focused widgets:

  • Team snapshot. Four cards: Active team size, Onboarding, On leave, Probation due.
  • Pending approvals. Counts of leave requests, document signoffs, and onboarding tasks waiting on you. Each links straight to the relevant queue.
  • Quick links. Shortcuts to the Management Hub and to Run a survey.

Admin dashboard

Admins see all of the above PLUS organisation-wide widgets:

  • Announcements card with a ”+ New Announcement” toggle so you can post a new one straight from the dashboard.
  • Compliance alerts. Up to 4 alerts shown, with a “+N more” indicator if there are extras. Click into each for the source.
  • Surveys open. Active survey count and names.
  • Quick links. Shortcuts to the Management Hub, HR Hub, Add employee, and Run a survey.

Why widgets appear and disappear

The dashboard is dynamic. A widget shows up when there’s something relevant: a survey to complete, leave to approve, an onboarding still in progress. When everything’s done, the widget hides and the dashboard quietens down. This is intentional, the dashboard is a to-do surface, not a static report.

If your dashboard looks sparse, that means there’s nothing demanding your attention right now. Take the win.
